Primary Food

Food that comes from the ground or the sea or the sky is food that nourishes us in the traditional sense of the word. But, what if I told you that kind of food is secondary?
Secondary to what? Everything, of course. Think about it: do you eat to live or live to eat? Eating nourishing food is only our ticket to the party. Life is the party! Having the kind of life that nourishes your soul is primary. What kind of “party” will best nourish your soul in this life? Some people’s Primary Food in life is to have a successful career. Others feel most nourished by supportive relationships.
The good news is, whatever your desire, you can achieve it. Many people dream big, but are intimidated or give up when something gets in their way. The first step to living a life you love is to get clear on your dreams. Don’t be afraid to dream big.
Take a minute now and ask yourself these questions: What do you want to accomplish in your life? Where would you like to go? Who would you like to be with? The clearer your intention, the more you can build your future according to your hopes and dreams.
If you want to live a long and healthy life with loving relationships, what are the steps you need to take? What do you eat throughout the day? Should you consume more vegetables? How is your physical activity? The more specific you get the more likely your dream will come true.
Living your true potential usually involves taking risks. It’s okay. Breathe. The world is a safe place and will support you to achieve the life you want.
Are you doing what you want to be doing with your life? Is anything holding you back and preventing you from living life freely, like your job or a particular relationship?
My father has a bumper sticker on his car that says, “This is your life, not a dress rehearsal.” I love this idea. Take on your dreams. Don’t wait for next month or when you lose 20 pounds or for the kids to be older, start now. I encourage you to check in with where you are and where you want to be. Take some time to do a visualization exercise and ask yourself these questions:
Where do you want to be a month from now? In six months? Next year? In 10 years?
Acknowledge yourself today for who you are and what you have done so far. Now go out and celebrate!!
